Guidelines for limiting exposure to electromagnetic fields (100 kHz to 300 GHz)

This page documents how this source is reused across Claim by Claim. A source can support, challenge, qualify or contextualize different claims; appearing here does not imply endorsement of every linked proposition.

Evidence context

How this source is used

Evidence roles describe what this source helps establish inside each Investigation. They are local to that use, not permanent labels attached to the publication itself.

Investigation

Does a high reading on a consumer radiofrequency (RF) meter by itself prove medical danger?

Challenges

The original ICNIRP 2020 RF standard distinguishes basic restrictions (e.g., 100 kHz–6 GHz, general-public whole-body SAR 0.08 W/kg averaged 30 min; local head/torso SAR 2 W/kg over 10 g averaged 6 min) from external reference levels (e.g., >2 GHz whole-body incident 10 W/m² averaged 30 min and >2–6 GHz local reference 40 W/m² averaged 6 min). These are different metrics/averaging scenarios and neither a consumer alarm nor direct proof of disease.
