Endonuclease fingerprint indicates a synthetic origin of SARS-CoV-2
This page documents how this source is reused across Claim by Claim. A source can support, challenge, qualify or contextualize different claims; appearing here does not imply endorsement of every linked proposition.
Evidence roles describe what this source helps establish inside each Investigation. They are local to that use, not permanent labels attached to the publication itself.
A bioRxiv preprint argues that the distribution of type IIS restriction sites in SARS-CoV-2 resembles a synthetic assembly fingerprint.
This unreviewed preprint has a 2023 revision explicitly withdrawing an earlier probability multiplication in its supplement and acknowledging recombination as an alternative; the restriction-site inference remains disputed. It does not document a pre-outbreak construct.
