Evidence context

How this source is used

Evidence roles describe what this source helps establish inside each Investigation. They are local to that use, not permanent labels attached to the publication itself.

Investigation

Did community face masks fail to reduce SARS-CoV-2 transmission?

Supports

DANMASK-19 found no statistically significant reduction in SARS-CoV-2 infection from recommending surgical masks to wearers in a low-mask-use community setting.

The confidence interval allowed smaller benefit, adherence was imperfect, and the trial did not test source control.
