Do the Dendera reliefs depict electric light bulbs?
El-Kordy's directly inspected 1982 Egyptological study translates the legends on the south wall of South Crypt 1, chamber C: Harsomtus appears in serpent form rising from lotuses in sacred-bark contexts, including a djed support. The cited ancient-text edition is Dendara V, pp. 144-145; the glyphs themselves were not independently collated.
On printed page 178 El-Kordy interprets the scenes through the sun's daily renewal: the lotus represents life's emergence from primordial waters, and the djed embodies the enduring regenerative power associated with Osiris. This is an Egyptologist's interpretation, not a new literal translation of each glyph.
Plate XXVI of the original 1982 scholarly article depicts both walls of the exact crypt, including the elongated serpent-and-lotus forms often cropped as alleged lamps. This scene match grounds the identification of the figures described on printed page 177.
